ABB South Africa is calling on fresh and talented graduates who will be interested in sending their application and possibly join the company’s Graduate Development Programme.
ABB, or ASEA Brown Bowen, is a multinational conglomerate with headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. The company deals primarily in power, robotics, heavy electrical equipment, power grids, automation and more. ABB is a global Fortune 500 company and has been so for over two decades. The company operates in about 100 countries with close to 120,000 employees.
The Group started its South African operations in 1992, and now employs close to a total of 2,500 people in its sites in Malawi, Angola, Zimbabwe, Swaziland and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The company offers a number of programmes in order to expand its pool of talented workforce. One of its many programmes is its yearly offering of the ABB Graduate Development Programme.
ABB Graduate Development Programme
The successful candidates will join ABB Power Grids where they will be gain exposure to a stimulating work and learning environment and the opportunity to understand the business, the career they have chosen and themselves.
Moreover, the participants will gain knowledge of how the local and regional offices function. Participants will also be working with registered professionals who will assist them transition into a professional space through the transfer of their skills, attributes and knowledge.
As part of the ABB Graduate Development Programme, successful candidates will gain experience in the following
- Participate in the Management Programme in order to enhance understanding of the business environment, including inherent roles by going through the Management Practice Programme
- Engineering candidates will partner up with an expert provider who will help participants develop technical and professional skills that will lead to an ECSA certification.
Who should apply?
Ideal candidates must be able to meet the minimum requirements to be able to considered eligible to apply:
- Must hold a Degree, Diploma B Tech or S-14 in any related field
- Willing to attend and learn during training
- Able to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills
