The Aurecon Bursary Programme will soon be inviting qualified and deserving individuals to apply for its upcoming offering on July 2019.
Aurecon is a global infrastructure and engineering advisory company. Established in 2009 by Ninham Shand and Connel Wagner, Aurecon serves a wide range of clients across various markets worldwide. Popular projects by Aurecon includes the Sol Plaatje Library in Kimberley North Cape, Times Square Casino in Tshwane and the Sun Arena, among others.
Aurecon Bursary Programme 2020
The Aurecon Bursary Programme is offered to qualified and deserving students pursuing a tertiary degrees related to Aurecon’s activities. These courses include degrees in Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in the areas of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
The bursary amount can cover up R90,000 each year, subject to modification, in support for their school-related expenses. In addition to the bursary offer, the company also provides practical training relevant to the qualification. The bursary is renewed each year as long as the bursar’s academic records satisfies the standards set by the programme.
Requirements or Eligibility
To qualify for the Aurecon Bursary Programme. applicants must satisfy the minimum requirements of the programme listed below:
- Must be pursuing or intending to pursue a BEng or BSc degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering at universities accredited by the programme
- For Grade 12 students, must have obtained at least a grade of 5 in Maths and Sciences since Grade 11
- University students must have obtained at least a 70% average
Selected bursars must be amenable to work one year for each year of bursary coverage. This obligation starts after graduation of the bursar.
How to Apply
Qualified applicants will need to fill out the application form and must be submitted along with your supporting documents:
- Copy of CV in PDF or Word format
- South African ID book, certified copy
- Complete academic records, certified copies
- Completed application form
Once the screening and shortlisting process in done, candidates will receive an invitation for a panel interview in Durban, Johannesburg or Cape Town. The selected bursars will be awarded the bursary agreement thereafter.

Opening and Closing Dates
The Aurecon Bursary Programme for 2020 will begin accepting applications by 2 July 2019 and will close on 31 August 2019.
