BBD Software Development IT Bursary Programme 2020

BBD Software Development is now accepting applications for its Bursary Programme for 2020.

Established in 1984, BBD offers custom software development as well as application design solution services. The company’s IT expertise spans the finance, education, banking, insurance, telecommunications and the public sectors.

Headquartered in Johannesburg, BBD has offices in Cape Town, Pretoria, Cape Town, Pune (India), Bourgas (Bulgaria), London, Amsterdam and Porto in Portugal. This tech company currently employs more than 800 IT professionals.

BBD Software Development IT Bursary Programme

The BBD IT Bursary Programme is awarded to students who intend to pursue a career in software development. The courses covered by the bursary programme include:

  • Computer Science
  • Computer/Software Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Informatics

Who should apply?

The ideal candidate must be able to meet these basic qualifications in order to be considered eligible to join the programme:

  • Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID
  • Planning to pursue or already pursuing any of the prescribed IT qualifications at a recognized South African university
  • Solid written and spoken English communication skills
  • Great passion for innovation

What is the selection process?

BBD’s selection committee puts greater weight on the following conditions:

  • Academic performance
  • Financial need

    The bursary will contribute to cover the cost of university. Bursars are also given a monthly allowance to cover any other school costs incurred.
