Columbus Stainless is calling on suitable and deserving engineering students in South Africa to submit their application and qualify for its Engineering Bursary Programmes for 2021. Check out the minimum eligibility requirements prior to submitting an application.
Columbus Stainless Pty Ltd. is part of the Multinational Acerinox Group, and is the only flat stainless steel manufacturer in Africa. Established in 1966, Columbus Stainless produces 100% recyclable and usable stainless steel.
Columbus Stainless Engineering Bursary 2021
In line with Columbus Stainless’ commitment to playing an essential role in South Africa’s sustained growth and development, the company offers various programmes to attract and develop exceptional talent. It awards bursary support to students pursuing careers critical to achieving the company’s goals.
Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to get invited to participate in Columbus Stainless’ specialized training programmes. This is done following the successful completion of the beneficiaries’ degree.
Currently, it is awarding bursary assistance to 3rd-year and 4th-year students pursuing studies in the following fields of study:
- BS Material Science or Chemical engineering
- B Eng in Physical Metallurgy
Who should apply?
In order to qualify, applicants will need to meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:
- 4th year and 3rd-year students pursuing any of the fields of study mentioned above
- Achieved a grade point average of 60% or higher
What is the selection process?
The awarding of bursary support and training courses will be up to Columbus Stainless, taking into consideration relevant factors, including its own Employment Equity policies.

The deadline for submission of applications is on 15 February 2021.
Applicants who do not receive feedback from Columbus Stainless two weeks beyond the deadline are to consider their application as unsuccessful.
