DPSA Vacancies and Careers

DPSA or the Department of Public Service and Administration is a government organisation responsible for administering the civil services in South Africa. There are multiple departments within DPSA, each specialising in a particular field, to deliver state-sponsored services to the citizens.

Besides being an essential cog in the South African governance structure, DPSA also employs many people. It releases notifications for vacancies every year via circulars. The second circular of 2022 is now published, and it lists various employment opportunities within the DPSA departments. All of the jobs pay well, are permanent, and offer a chance to serve the community.

What Students Should Know?

The circulars are released every week, except the December edition. It contains the vacancies in the department that need to be filled up. But the circular is not issued by DPSA. Therefore, it is not responsible for the content. Nor does it take responsibility for any consequences arising out of it. Thus, applicants must communicate with the respective departments and confirm the details before applying.

How to Apply?

To apply for a given vacancy, here are the steps applicants need to take:

  • Go to the Circular 02 of 2022 page at the Department of Public Service and Administration’s website
  • Select the department where you wish to apply and read through the details. It provides information on available positions, salary, duties and responsibilities, and the last date to apply
  • Download and complete the latest Z83 form available on the page. It’s essential to use the newest form as others will be discarded
  • Provide the correct reference number of the vacancy for which you’re applying
  • Prepare a CV with complete details like your training, qualification, personal information, knowledge, and experience
  • Recheck the application form and CV and other documents you might have for accuracy
  • Finally, submit your application at the website by attaching the form and documents

Remember, the application should reach the appropriate department before the closing date mentioned in the circular.
