About the Department of Home Affairs
The DHA’s primary mandate is to serve as the nation’s custodian, verifier, and protector of the status and identity of citizens including other individuals residing in South Africa. This allows the Department to help people understand their rights and gain access to opportunities and benefits in public and private spaces. In addition, the DHA regulates, facilitates, and controls the movement and immigration of people.
Department of Home Affairs – DHA Internships 2023
In line with the DHA’s digitization efforts of converting more than 350 million paper documents to improve the Department’s service delivery. This in partnership with the Employment and Labour department and the Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator.
The DHA is currently looking to fill the following learnershiproles as part of its National Pathway Management Network which aims to contribute in the creation of jobs for unemployed South African youths:
- Document Warehouse Controllers (R5,000/month)
- Preppers (R5,000/month)
- Runners (R5,000/month)
- Re-assemblers (R5,000/month)
- Scanners (R5,000/month)
- Receiving Clerks (R5,000/month)
- Drivers (R5,000/month)
- Indexers (R5,000/month)
- Quality Controllers (R6,000/month)
- Tech Support (R6,000/month)
- Managers (R6,000/month)
- Team Leaders (R6,000/month)
All learnerships roles will run for 36 months and are based at the DHA’s offices in Pretoria, Gauteng and in Brits, North West province.
Who should apply?
Applicants must be able to satisfy these basic eligibility requirements to apply for the role:
- Completed a qualification that matches the role being applied for
- A South African citizen between 18 to 35 years old
- Must have a clear credit history and no criminal record
