Ernst & Young SA Tax Trainee Programme
As a Tax Trainee at Earnst & Young South Africa, participants will receive training that will allow them to help businesses get through the challenges of the constantly changing and complex tax regulations. The company offers a comprehensive suite of tax services where trainees will acquire experience from or even just focus on a single area. These areas in which trainees can get exposure from include:
- Business Tax Services
Assist businesses to deal with complicated requirements for tax reporting, planning, compliance as well as tax controversy and policy
- Business Tax (consists of Business Tax Advisory, Risk Advisory and Tax Accounting, Business Tax Compliance)
Provide support to a wide range of clients including entrepreneurs and established multinational corporations, thus gaining a deep and comprehensive tax and business expertise for the trainee
- Indirect Tax
Advise local and international trader clients on the effects of VAT and GST on their supply chain accounting and financial systems
- International Tax
Gain experience in helping global companies get their global tax position in line with business strategies. Areas of support include, but not limited to international tax strategies, cross-border transactions and transfer pricing policies
- Transaction Tax
Acquire experience in small family business acquisitions, mergers, de-mergers, disposals, joint ventures and stock exchange transactions
- Human Capital
Help international corporations in managing their global workforce as well as delivering operational improvements
Who should apply?

EY SAICA Tax Trainee Programme
- CTA Level 2 or
- BCom Honour/BSc in Accounting or Accounting Science
EY SAIT Tax Trainee Programme
- BCom Honours in Taxation
EY Tax Transfer Pricing Trainee Programme
- BCom Honours in Economics
