The eThekwini Municipality is calling on interested parties to express their interest in sending their applications to its multi-discipline Work Experience/Internship Programmes for 2020.
Established in 2000, the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality is a Category A municipality encompassing the city of Durban and the surrounding towns. eThekwini is part of the 11 districts that make up Kwazulu-Natal. It has a population close to 3.5 million, the majority of which speak Zulu.

Career Options
The eThekwini Municipality does not guarantee permanent employment after the interns’ completion of the internship programme.
Requirements or Eligibility
To qualify for the eThekwini Work Experience/Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be currently pursuing or have completed a:
- National Certificate
- 3-year Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma
- Postgraduate or B. Tech Diploma
- Honour’s or Master’s degree
- Must be a South African citizen
- Have not joined or benefited from a similar government or private programme in the last 12 months or more
- Must be first time applicants of the programme
