About For Coloured Girls 

A non-profit organization, For Coloured Girls, has been established with the aim to provide support and resources to coloured young girls of 8th to 12th grade to help them achieve success academically. The purpose of For Coloured Girls is to provide academic and other resources to those from underprivileged communities.

Through this foundation, the organization hopes to bring about positive outcomes for young women by transforming their lives and preventing them from many risky behaviors.

The organization further echoes this by assisting young girls in making long-term, healthy decisions that will have a positive impact on both them as well as their families. All the work of For Coloured Girls is based on the principles, beliefs, and values – integrity, responsibility, professionalism, and respect.

For Coloured Girls Bursary 2022

A bursary programme for coloured girls is being offered by For Coloured Girls for the academic year 2022. Students are invited by For Coloured Girls to apply for their bursary programme. Applications are invited from interested coloured female students studying presently in Grade 8th to 12th and are passionate about advancing their academic qualifications.

Bursary Coverage

The following benefits are provided by this bursary program:

  • financial aid
  • mentorship
  • psychological aid
  • Development and learning initiatives

Note: Funding is not provided by the organization – it is a support programme.

All the applicants applying for the programme will be notified of the outcome of their application within 30 days of the closing date. Applicants are requested not to contact the organization to inquire about their application status.

Who should apply?

Before applying, interested applicants must meet the following entry requirements. Note that your application will not be considered if you don’t meet all requirements:

  • Applicants must be coloured females
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in Grades 8-12 (i.e, a student in high school).
  • You must belong to a coloured community
  • An interest in learning and the desire to pursue further education are required

How do I apply?

Applying for the bursary is a simple process where the applicants should apply online at: For Coloured Girls Bursary Foundation Application Form 2022

The online application consists of four parts where you need to provide your details, your schooling details, your guardian details and attach the supporting documents, then submit the application online. 

For the 2022 intake, candidates are encouraged to apply, and those selected in the first round will be informed about the requirements for the second round, and eventually receive the bursary.

Documents Required

Eligible candidates are required to submit the following documentation copied accompanied by their online application. It is mandatory to submit all the requisite documents – in case of missing documents or filling in to submit complete info, your application may get disqualified. Therefore, the applicants are requested to stay vigilant during the application process.

  • A certified copy of your latest academic results
  • Write an essay explaining why you want to participate in this bursary programme (covering the following three points: the benefits you expect to get from joining the programme, the relevance and interest of the structure of the course to you, and how you will use the knowledge and skills you will acquire in developing your career)

Application Deadline?

The last date of application for For Coloured Girls Bursary Foundation is 25 February 2022.

Any applications submitted after the submission deadline will not be considered – if you would like your application considered, please submit it by the closing date.
