The Financial Sector Conduct Authority is calling on suitable individuals to send in their application to qualify for its FSCA Internship Programmes for 2021. It is the FSCA’s responsibility is to regulate the market conduct of financial institutions in South Africa. This includes all financial institutions that are licensed under financial sector laws to offer financial products and services such as banks, retirement fund administrators and insurers.
The Organization, through market supervision and regulation, aims to improve and support the integrity and efficiency of the South African financial market as well as promote fair treatment of financial customers by the financial institutions.
The FSCA Internship 2021
FSCA’s internship programme aims to provide new graduates with extensive exposure to market supervision and regulation in order to develop relevant skills and knowledge. It is a structured programme designed specifically designed to create a steady pipeline of effective financial analysts and semi-skilled professionals. The internship also seeks to protect the integrity of financial institutions in the country.
The successful candidates will be given the opportunity to acquire knowledge under the supervision of a mentor and will be placed in a division depending on their career targets and qualifications. Interns will perform competency-based tasks and take part in soft skills and technical training programmes.
Who should apply?
Applicants must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements to apply:
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African identity documents
- Graduates or have completed Grade 12 with interest in any of the following areas
- Science, Decision Science, Data Analytics
- Accounting, Forensic Accounting
- Economics, Econometrics
- Public Finance, Financial Management
- International Relations
- Information Technology
- Policy Analysis
- Operations Research, Research
- Investment or Portfolio Management
- Risk Management
- Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must not have work experience
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in financial services
