GAST South Africa, one of the country’s premiere construction conglomerates, is actively searching for qualified individuals to join its graduate programme for 2019. Established in South Africa during the early 1960s, GAST has a global footprint spanning 25 countries in various sectors related to civil engineering and construction.
GAST has its beginnings in the chemical industry manufacturing specialized chemicals which include waterproofing and coating compounds for use in industrial and cosmetic markets. To date, GAST has completed over 11,150 projects worldwide. This South African-based construction company boasts accreditation from the World Bank and the United Nations.
GAST (GGP) Engineering Graduate Programme 2019
The GAST Graduate Programme was launched in line with the company’s efforts to unlock and develop full potential among young South African graduates. The graduate programme runs for a duration of 12 months and gives a unique opportunity for participants to further enhance and grow their acquired skills.
A designated coach will serve as mentor to the participants. Moreover, the selected participants will receive a fixed-term stipend for the duration of the programme plus other benefits included in the position.
Upon successful completion of the GGP, permanent employment within the company will be based on the following criteria:
- Results of full evaluation of overall performance and skills assessment
- Availability of the position within the company
If in any case the participant will not be extended a full time employment, GAST will forward his/her profile to an appropriate recruitment agency for employment assistance.
Requirements or Eligibility
Applicants must have the following basic requirements in order to be considered for the GAST Graduate Programme:
- A South African citizen or holding permanent residency status
- Full time working experience must not exceed two years after graduation
- Amenable to working in any part of the country
- Able to participate in company procedures
- Willingness to grow within the organization
