The Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) is a branch of the Gauteng Provincial Government that is tasked to advance quality education, skills and training development in their area of jurisdiction. The GCRA works to grow and further develop a diverse talent and skills pool essential for the ever growing and dynamic economy of Gauteng. This is done by implementing training and development interventions as well as leadership and management development programmes. Among these is the GCRA Bursary Programme which seeks to help underprivileged Gauteng youth pursue tertiary level education.
In addition to extending aid to young Gauteng students, the GCRA also aims to empower local government workers and the Gauteng business sector.
GCRA Bursary Programmes
The GCRA Bursary Programme is targeted towards Grade 12 students without the financial capability to obtain a tertiary level education. The coverage of the bursary is comprehensive as it includes tuition fees, book expenses, food and boarding expenses and more. Additional funding can be acquired should the yearly school fees exceed the maximum bursary amount.
