GPW Graduate Internship Programmes 2019

Headquartered in Pretoria, the Government Printing Works is a security printing company responsible for the printing of legal documents such as visas, passports, birth certificates, examination materials, smart card ID documents and government publications and stationery. Its overall goal for the last 124 years is to curb counterfeiting, tampering and forgery that could result in identity theft and fraud. It operates in four locations and is currently offering the GPW Graduate Internship Programmes that can help the company tap into a stream of talented labor pool.

The GPW runs as a self-funded enterprise within regulated parameters set by the Department of Home Affairs of South Africa.

The GPW Internship Programmes

GPW is looking to fill various graduate internship opportunities that are currently open. The internship programmes run for at least 24 months with interns receiving a monthly stipend of R6 000.

Career Opportunities

While successful interns will appointed for a duration of 24 months and with a monthly stipend due them, the GPW reserves the right to grant permanent employment to the intern at the end of the programmes

Applicants must also satisfy the following basic requirements:

  • Unemployed South African youths
  • Have never joined an internship programme in the publlic service sector

How to Apply

Qualified applicants are required to submit the following:

  • Application must be on a completed Z8.3 form obtained from any Public Service Department. You can also opt to download the form below
  • Application form must state the field being applied to
  • Application form must come with a comprehensive CV
  • Attach certified true copies of certifications from SAQA-recognised institutions
  • A comprehensive academic record on completed studies including Grade 12 certificate, marks and a certified ID copy
  • Applicants with foreign qualifications must submit the SAQA evaluation report

  • Make sure that page 2 of the Z8.3 form is duly signed
  • Shortlisted applicants will go through a Security Clearance process
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by GPW
  • If no response has received three months after the closing date, consider the application unsuccessful.
  • Non-compliance to the requirements and submission deadline will forfeit the application process
