The Komatsu Mining Corporation, or KMC is inviting qualified graduates to start off their career with the company’s Apprenticeship Programmes for the 2020 financial year.

Komatsu Mining is a multinational company that offers essential mining machinery, systems and solutions utilized by companies in extracting fundamental minerals for the development of modern infrastructure, consumer and technology products. With an extensive history in the mining industry, Komatsu Mining brands include P&H, Montalbert, Joy, Modular Mining Systems, NTC, Hensley Industries and Gigaphoton equipment.

KMC’s Apprenticeship Programmes are effective technical training systems that cover theoretical and practical aspects that are specific to the designated trade or expertise in order to gain artisan status. Listed below are current apprenticeship offerings along with their respective location and reference number.

Millwright Apprenticeship(Witbank) Mpumalanga – Ref. no: 16350

Millwright Apprenticeship – Venetia, Gauteng – Ref. no: 16349

Boilermaker Apprenticeship – Wadeville, Gauteng – Ref. no: 16348

Fitter Apprenticeship – Wadeville, Gauteng – Ref. no: 16347

Electrician Apprenticeship – Wadeville, Gauteng – Ref. no: 16327

Welder Apprenticeship – Wadeville, Gauteng – 16307

Turner Apprenticeship – Wadeville , Gauteng – Ref. no: 16288

Who should apply?

Applicants who meet the following minimum criteria are highly encouraged to apply:

  • Completed N3 with four subjects and related trade theory with at least D/L4 in Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Completed NC(V) L4 with at least D/L4 for Math and another engineering subject and related design or electrical infrastructure construction
  • S1 (D/L4 Mathematics and Physical Science) or higher

While no deadline for submission of applications has been set, applicants who do not receive feedback until 30 November 2019 must consider the application as unsuccessful.
