The Komatsu Mining Corporation is calling on qualified engineering graduates to send in their applications for its Experiential Learnership Programmes for the 2020 financial year.

Komatsu Mining is a multinational company that offers essential mining machinery, systems and solutions utilized by companies in extracting fundamental minerals for the development of modern infrastructure, consumer and technology products. With an extensive history in the mining industry, Komatsu Mining brands include P&H, Montalbert, Joy, Modular Mining Systems, NTC, Hensley Industries and Gigaphoton equipment.

Komatsu Mining Corp. Engineering Learnership Programmes 2020

Komatsu SA’s Learnership Programmes run for a period of 12 months where recent engineering graduates will undergo an experiential learning programme specific to their field of study. This is a good opportunity for engineering students to acquire workplace exposure. Below are the learnership offerings and with important details specific to each programme:

Mechanical Engineering Learnership Programme (P1 and P2) Ref. no: 16507

  • Completed all modules in Mechanical Engineering S4
  • Successful candidates will be working with mechanical engineers providing assistance with maintenance, design  and testing of various products, equipment and machinery
  • Incumbents will also assist technical teams working on special projects

Electrical Engineering Learnership Programme (P1 and P2) Ref. no: 16508

  • Completed all Electrical Engineering S4 modules
  • Provide assistance with creating, maintenance and repair of electrical or electronic equipment and component
  • Incumbents will also assist technical teams working on special projects

Industrial Engineering Learnerhsip Programme (P1 and P2) Ref. no: 16495

  • Completed all Industrial Engineering S4 modules
  • Will shadow and help tech team in discovering methods of eliminating wastefulness in production processes
  • Develop efficient systems that effectively integrate machines, workers, energy and information in the production process

Who should apply?

Only applicants who meet the following minimum requirements are eligible to apply:

  • Must have completed the prescribed degree or diploma or relevant field of study
  • Good problem solving, analysis and reasoning skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and energetic
  • Able to work well within a team
  • EE candidates are preferred
