The Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund is calling on qualified LLB students who are looking to acquire bursary support to submit an application to qualify for its upcoming Bursary Programme.

Formerly called as the Attorneys’ Fidelity Fund, the Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund, or LPFF, is a fidelity guarantee that works to protect the public from loss brought about by trust fund theft. This level of protection promotes confidence in the public when seeking the services of legal practitioners.
The main responsibility of the LPFF is to provide reimbursement to clients of law practitioners who may experience pecuniary loss brought about by theft of property or money entrusted to an attorney for the duration of practice.
Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund Bursary Programme
The LPFF Bursary Programme is awarded to full-time students pursuing any of the following:
- BA Law
- BCom Law
- B Luris
Bursary coverage is limited to tuition fee expenses, the amount of which is determined by LPFF’s Board of Control. The duration of bursary coverage may run for a maximum period of 24 months
Candidate lawyers or practicing lawyers who need bursary support for further studies are eligible to receive up to R8,000 renewable for two years.
Who should apply?
Candidates must meet these minimum requirements to be considered eligible to apply:
- Must be in the third or fourth year of studies towards any of the qualifications mentioned above
- Second-year students in their first semester may apply for bursary coverage for third and fourth-year studies
- Third-year students in their first semester may apply for bursary coverage for the final year of studies
- Candidate and practicing lawyers must be studying at a South African university with the aim of improving their qualifications
