Netcare Education Nursing Training Programmes 2022

Netcare Education, or NetEd, is inviting applications for its New Nursing Qualifications Course for Self-funding Students programme for the 2022 academic year. More details are available below for further reading.

The Faculty of Nursing and Ancillary Healthcare (FNAH) of Netcare Education, is a division of Netcare Limited and is dedicated to uplifting the skills and knowledge of all healthcare and nursing professionals.

Students are covered by Act 33 of the Nursing Act of 2005, and their enrollment as contained in this Act is required for their education at Netcare, including any rights or recourse as indicated.

 

Netcare Education Nursing Training Programmes

Netcare’s nursing programmes are in inline with the National Qualifications Framework’s guidelines as it follows the respective NQF level, assessment criteria, and number of credits. This ensures successful candidates that their credits will be recognized by SAQA registered qualifications as well as recognition for prior learning, or RPL.

Netcare’s education and training courses are all presented using the English language and requires applicants to possess NQF level 4 competence in the English language. The formal learning programmes currently offered by NetEd are as follows:

Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing

  • 1-year programme
  • NQF level 5
  • Number of credits – 120
  • SANC registered
  • Applicants must have a National Senior Certificate leading to a higher certificate programme at a higher education level, or an equivalent qualification

Diploma in Nursing

  • 3-year programme
  • NQF level 6
  • Number of credits – 383
  • SANC registered
  • Applicants must have a National Senior Certificate leading to a higher certificate programme at a higher education level, or an equivalent qualification

6-month In-Service Certificate Programmes for Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses (separate programmes)

  • Anaesthetic and Recovery Room Skills
  • Central Sterile Service Department Tech
  • Elementary Critical Care Nursing
  • Elementary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nursing (RN only)
  • Child Nursing
  • Infection Prevention and Control (RN only)
  • Infection, Prevention, and Control Link Nurse (3 months)
  • Basic Principles of Infection Prevention (3 days)
  • Maternity Nursing
  • Operating Room Skills
  • Paediatric Cardiothoracic Nursing
  • Elementary Trauma and Emergency Nursing

NetEd has officially teamed up with KR Education to provide logistic and administrative support to process applications as well as pre-selections for its formal nursing programmes and current Netcare Education Academic Development  (NEAD) programmes.
