They offer a variety of internships, or what they refer to as associate training programmes, that allow students to work their way towards a degree while acquiring important working experience.

Business Orientation Program (BOP)
Participants are expected to learn and understand the many systems and business structures during the programme. These should empower students with the basic knowledge to analyze financial data, e.g. follow and understand economic indicators that determine the economic condition of a company or the country. This includes the inflation rate, share prices, and how the rand performs against the US dollar.
Programme partcipants will be introduced to the basics of the auditing profession and to how the Johannesburg Securities Exchange work. They will also acquire much-needed skills such as:
- Basic computer knowledge
- Business etiquette
- Setting up business (simulated)
- Job interview skills
- Creating a CV appropriate for the business environment
The programme is highly interactive and aims to instill leadership skills to nominated students in 12th Grade. This particular programme runs for three days
Five-Year Trainee Accountant Programme
Based in PwC Gauteng, this programme is offered to matriculalting and post-graduate students interested in working while in school. The programme is a good opportunity to acquire essential work experience even while studying and eventually qualify as chartered accountant in a span of five years.
PwC Internships or student programmes are typically conducted in any of the PwC sites in South Africa. Minimum requirements, programme description and job details may vary depending on the needs and availability of the respective sites.

Requirements or Eligibility
Business Orientation Program
- The programme accepts previously disadvantaged students in the first year of their BCom Accounting course. They also take 11th Grade students who come from previously disadvantaged areas.
- Applicants must be in Grade 12 and duly nominated by their respective schools
Five-year Trainee Accountant Programme
For applicants to qualify for the programme, they must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
- In the process of completing or have already finished Grade 12
- Applicants must have acquired a minimum of Level 6 or 7 in Accounting and/or Mathematics
- All other subjects must not be lower than Level 5
