Richards Bay Minerals, or RBM, is offering its Apprenticeship Programme for 2019. RBM is a mining company whose primary product is titanium oxide slag with 85% purity. In addition, RBG produces rutile (used in pigment, refractory ceramic, and titanium metal) ilmenite and zircon.
RBM’s primary sites are located north of Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, in a long strip of sand dunes rich with minerals. Rio Tinto owns 70% of RBM with Blue Horizon Investment owning 24%, while permanent RBM employees own 2% of the mining company.

Requirements or Eligibility
In order to qualify for the apprenticeship, the following basic qualifications must be met:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Completed N2 level in Engineering Science, Maths and two relevant trade theory subjects in the same field
- Must have a driver’s license
