SA Property Owners Association Bursary 2020 – 2021

The South African Property Owners Association Bursary Programme is calling on qualified parties who are seeking bursary support to further their studies relevant to the property industry. Read on to discover more about this bursary opportunity.

The South African Property Owners Association is member-driven group whose goal is to protect, represent and promote its members’ industrial and commercial property interests invested in the property sector in terms of management, ownership and development.

SA Property Owners Association Bursary Programme

In line with the SAPOA’s goal in promoting the property sector, it continually works to attract fresh and talented people who can make profound contributions in the industry by offering tertiary educational support.

The SAPOA Bursary Programme is open to students who are intending to study or currently studying full-time in a CHE-accredited university or tech university in pursuit of any of the following qualifications:

  • BSc in Urban and Regional Planning
  • BSc in Property Studies
  • BSc in Construction Studies
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying
  • BCom in Finance with Property Valuation, major in  Management
  • BCom Property Valuation and Management
  • BSc in Real Estate
  • BSc in Town and Regional Planning
  • BSc in Property Management

Who should apply?

Applicants must satisfy the following requisites in order to be considered for the programme:

  • Must be a natural-born South African or a naturalized citizen of South Africa
  • Completed matric
  • Must be a full-time student pursuing any of the studies mentioned earlier
  • Must be pursuing studies at a prescribed university
  • Good academic standing
  • Proven financial incapacity to further studies

How do I apply?

Qualified applicants will need to submit the following support documents along the application form:

  • Certified true copy of matric (Grade 12) certificate
  • Copy of letter of admission from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Certified true copy of latest scholastic record with the institution’s official letterhead
  • Most recent certified true copy of valid SA identity document
  • Most recent certified true copy of parent/s, breadwinner/s or guardian/s SA identity documents
  • A personal statement(one to two pages)
  • Letter of recommendation from two different sources
  • Written verification from recognized institution indicating average cost of schooling per year
  • CV showing background and work experience (if not included in personal statement
