Sappi Bursary SA Program

Sappi SA partners with accredited universities to attract fresh and vibrant young minds to join the company. They offer bursary programmes that will support young South Africans through their studies as they equip themselves with the essential skills in line with responding to real world industry issues.

Depending on the course you’re taking, you can be a process engineer, electronics technician, or even in human resources and a whole lot more.

Eligibility or Requirements

You may be eligible to apply for a Sappi bursary programme if you are:

  • A university student or school leaver between 18 to 25 years old
  • A South African citizen
  • Planning to or currently studying full time at an accredited South African university
  • An individual with a 70%-80% average in Mathematics and Physical Science, and a 60% average in English
  • Eligible for acceptance at a university

If you meet all the minimum requirements, you will be required to set up an account on their website and fill out the online application form by clicking here.

Once your application is reviewed and you meet the minimum requirements, you will be shortlisted and receive an invitation for an interview.

Additional Information

If you are an undergraduate, your current university results will suffice. Keep in mind that Sappi prefers learners who have gained at least a 75% average in Physical Science and Mathematics.

Opening and Closing Date

Usually this bursary programme application begins June 1st and open until September 30th of each year.
