Human Resources Internship at SAPPI SA

SAPPI South Africa is calling on applicants for its Human Resources Internship programme for 2019. Established in 1936, this global woodfibre company provides consumers with locally made paper. Through the years, it diversified production to meet  the demand for uncoated business and graphic papers, newsprint, packaging and specialty papers as biochemicals and biomaterials. SAPPI now serves a market of direct and indirect customers in more than 150 states across the globe.

Headquartered in Johannesburg, the main office manages the sub-divisions of Sappi Specialised Cellulose, Sappi Paper and Paper Packaging, and Sappi Forests. Regional functions including human resources, finance, board functions, technical and engineering, and more are handled in their Johannesburg offices.

SAPPI Human Resources Internship Programme 2019

Selected candidates for the Sappi Human Resources Internship Programme for 2019 will be reporting to the HR Business Manager at the company’s Lomati Mill in Barberton. Some of the functions the selected interns includes the following:

  • Provide assistance to HR related administration tasks and other relevant tasks
  • Provide assistance to other HR related jobs
  • Help filing and updating of HR documents and files
  • Help coordinate training events and other HR functions

Requirements or Eligibility

To qualify for the SAPPI Human Resources Internship Programme, the following minimum requirements must be met:

  • Completed Matric or Grade 12
  • Must have obtained a Human Resources degree or diploma
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Full understanding of HR guidelines and processes
