Sappi South Africa was established in 1936 to provide consumers with locally made paper. Through the years, they diversified their production to meet local demand for uncoated business and graphic papers, newsprint, packaging and specialty papers.
With headquarters in Johannesburg, the main office manages the sub-divisions of Sappi Specialised Cellulose, Sappi Paper and Paper Packaging, and Sappi Forests. Regional functions including human resources, finance, board functions, technical and engineering, and more are handled in their Johannesburg offices.
From Sappi SA emerged Sappi Global, a huge, multi-national company operating in three continents. They sell millions of tons of top quality products ranging from dissolving wood pulp and paper products, to biochemicals and biomaterials, to customers all over the world.
Sappi SA Services Process Trainee Programme
The successful candidates will part of a comprehensive training and development programme in the pulp and paper sector of South Africa. Based out of Ngodwana Mill, the process trainee will be reporting directly to the Human Resources Consultant for Learning and Development.
The duties and responsibilities of the role include:
- Accomplish section-specific training as per the requirements of the position profiles in that section within the agreed time-frame
- Complete a plant-specific and general induction
- Complete legal training in compliance with section and mill requirement
- Maintain an excellent level of housekeeping at all times within the workplace
Who should apply?
Only applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are eligible to submit an application:
- Completed Grade 12 with Math’s and Physical Science or N3 in Pulp and Paper
- An N3 in Waste and Water Treatment is a definite advantage
