Sappi Ngodwana Mill is calling on interested individuals who have a National Diploma (S4) in Chemical Engineering or Pulp and Paper to qualify for the company’s Production Internship Programme.
Sappi SA was established in 1936 to provide consumers with locally made paper. Through the years, they have diversified their production to meet local demand for uncoated business and graphic papers, newsprint, packaging and specialty papers.
Headquartered in Johannesburg, the main office manages the sub-divisions of Sappi Specialised Cellulose, Sappi Paper and Paper Packaging, and Sappi Forests. Regional functions including human resources, finance, board functions, technical and engineering, and more are handled in their Johannesburg offices.

Sappi Production Internship Programme
Sappi SA offers thoroughly structured occupational training programmes developed for individuals interested in jump starting their career as a Production Intern in a multinational company. This internship programme allows trainees to experience the best theoretical and practical concepts surrounding the technical aspect of the company’s operation.
Sappi SA works in conjunction with several FET colleges, offering courses that can lead to a professional qualification registered at the National Qualification Framework.
The successful Product Intern will be reporting to Sappi’s Human Resources Consultant: Learning and Development
- Undergo and finish section specific training as required by the position within the agreed schedule
- Go through a General and Plant Specific induction
- Successfully complete legal training as per by section and mill requirement
- Manage a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace
- Commit to a 2-year internship programme

To qualify for the Product Internship Programme, the applicant must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
- Has a National Diploma (S4) in Chemical Engineering or Pulp and Paper
- Experience not a requirement
