The South African Table Grape Industry would like to invite qualified individuals to submit their application to gain a slot in the company’s Bursary Programme for 2020. Don’t forget to go over the minimum requirements before applying.
Founded in November 2004, the South African Table Grape Industry, or SATI, is the industry organization and the only representative of grape producers and exporters-producers. The SATI works to maintain South Africa’s position as the leading country of taste for grape retailers all over the world while establishing an equitable, sustainable and progressive table grape industry in South Africa.
South African Table Grape Industry Bursary 2021
The South African Table Grape Industry Bursary Programme is awarded to individuals pursuing a tertiary education qualification or Further Education and Training course connected to the table grape industry including its value chain. These include undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes in:
- Horticultural Science
- Plant Pathology
- Soil Science
- Agricultural Economy
The bursary programme is also used to fund students working on research projects. It is awarded to fund part-time or full-time students and may be either partial, full or work-back bursaries.
Who should apply?
- Must be a South African citizen
- Individuals pursuing studies relevant to the table grape industry and its value chain
- Tertiary education students must have completed at least Grade 12 (or its equivalent)
- FET students must have completed at least Grade 8
- With above-average grade results
- In partnership with a career mentor
- Successfully accepted at a recognized tertiary institution or further education and training institution
What is the selection process?
While the bursary programme is open to all who meet its minimum requirements, preference is given to individuals from previously disadvantaged and impoverished backgrounds, particularly those already involved in the industry or project/initiatives that promote the table grape industry
