The South African Veterinary Foundation is inviting qualified individuals who are interested in submitting an application to qualify for the Foundation’s Bursary Programme offering for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Established in 1984, the South African Veterinary Foundation, or SAVF, is a non-profit organization registered with the Department of Social Development as a Public Benefit Organization. The SAVF was founded with the objective of raising funds to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of animals through research and responsibly disseminating information to the public.
South African Veterinary Foundation Bursary Programme
The South African Veterinary Foundation will be choosing two (2) candidates to receive bursary funding for the upcoming 2020-21 school year. In conjunction with Lakato Veterinary Wholesalers, the SAVF awards the bursary amounting to R10 000 for each bursar.
To date, the programme has allotted a total bursary amount of R215 500. Bursary funding comes from the Pet Memorial Fund including generous cash donations from Lakato, Professional Provident Societies and Mercantile Bank
The bursary coverage is not a big amount as it is a way to augment the financial resources of the beneficiary to manage the annual expenses of pursuing veterinary science.
