Standard Bank: CIB Internship Programme 2019

The Standard Bank CIB Internship Programme is calling on interested parties to send their applications as soon as possible.

The Standard Bank in South Africa is considered by many as one of the leading financial services group in South Africa. In addition, it is the biggest lender in the African continent in terms of asset. Its corporate offices, named as Standard Bank Centre, is in Johannesburg.

Founded in 1862, Standard Bank began as a subsidiary of the British bank called Standard Bank. It was then called Standard Bank of South Africa.

The CIB Internship Programmes

The Corporate and Investment Banking Internship Programme aims to provide participants the chance to gain on-the-job exposure to Standard Bank’s core pillars of business. The selected interns will also have a  chance to work on live case studies and interesting projects.

Moreover, interns will able to build important networks throughout the bank. Most importantly, the interns will get to go on a great learning experience that can help shape their future.

The Standard Bank CIB Internship Programme runs for a duration of four weeks and begins in 25 June to 20 July 2019. The bank’s Global Leadership Centre will be accommodating the interns throughout the duration of the internship. The interns will also receive a monetary stipend for expenditures. The entire internship programme will be hosted at Standard Bank’s Rosebank offices in Johannesburg.

Requirements or Eligibility

To qualify, candidates must meet the minimum requirements listed below:

  • Students in their final year of Honour’s or 4-year degree studies
  • Must be pursuing Business Science, Financial Maths, Economics, Risk Management, Investment Management or Financial Management
  • Highly motivated
  • Must have commercial focus
  • Constantly curious
  • Loves problem solving
  • Able to think on their feet
  • Enjoys a good challenge
  • Good eye for details
  • Values teamwork
