The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is calling on currently unemployed graduates to send in their applications to qualify for its 1-year Call Center Internship Programme for 2019. Four slots are open for this particular internship.

Established in 1996 by the Road Accident Fund Act, the RAF replaced the Multilateral Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund. The RAF’s mandate is to provide appropriate coverage and promote road safety to all road users traveling within the borders of South Africa.

In addition, it provides for the rehabilitation and compensation of people injured in road accidents. The RAF also covers foreigners in the event they are also injured in a road mishap. Coverage is of two types; personal insurance coverage for accident victims, and indemnity coverage for the offending party.

NHBRC TVET Graduate Internship Programme

The National Home Builders Registration Council is currently inviting suitably qualified parties to apply for the NHBRC Internship Programme.

Established in 1998 by the Housing Consumer Protection Measures Act, the NHBRC is the South African home building industry’s regulating body. The Council aims to provide protection and assistance to housing consumers who have come across housing contractors who deliver units of substandard workmanship, design and low quality material.

NHBRC Internship Programme 2019 – 2020

The NHBRC Internship Programme runs for duration of 12 months. It is designed for both TVET and university graduate applicants and young individuals who have never been accepted to any SETA or public internship programme. Moreover, successful interns will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the 12-month internship.

The internship opportunity is currently being offered in several locations.

Winter Cereal Trust Bursary Programme 2019 – 2020

The Winter Cereal Trust is calling on suitably qualified individuals who would like to apply for its Bursary Programme offering for 2019.

Established in 1997, the Winter Cereal Trust, or WCT is a result of the continuance of the Wheat Board’s certain functions (e.g. providing monetary support to research projects, providing market information and lab services.

The Winter Cereal Trust Bursary Programme

In line with WCT’s goal in extending financial support to students in the area of small grains research, it introduced the Winter Cereal Trust Bursary Scheme in 2006. This bursary programme allows the WCT to play an important part in increasing the number of suitably qualified professionals in the industry.

The WCT seeks to grant ten (10) bursaries to deserving post-graduate students and three (3) bursaries to undergraduate or honour’s students who are in their final year of tertiary education and are planning to pursue post-graduate studies related to the field.

Undergraduate and honour’s degree students are entitled to a bursary amount of about R 64,135 for one year. Master’s degree students get about R 77,698 annually for two years while PhD students will receive R 94,965 within a three-year period.

Other important points to remember about the WTC Bursary Scheme

Each bursar will have a skilled mentor with proven expertise in the small grains research field who will provide assistance to the student. In addition, the mentor will keep track of and ensure the student’s performance and provide reports to the WCT accordingly.
Bursars are to attend a two-day Winter Cereal Trust Technical Committee meeting held yearly, usually in Pretoria
A bursar is required to work in the Small Grains Sector for at least the same length of time of being a bursary beneficiary.

While WCT does not guarantee employment at the end of the bursary support, the organization will place the bursar’s CV and previous experience on relevant websites three months prior to the student’s graduation.

Requirements or Eligibility

Honour’s or Bachelor’s degree students in their last year of pursuing studies relevant to the field of Small Grains research
Must be a post-graduate or PHd student pursuing a small grains research-related course of study

Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund Bursary Programme

The Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund, or LPFF, (formerly Attorneys Fidelity Fund) is calling on qualified parties who may be interested in qualifying for bursary support and to qualify for its LPFF Bursary Programme for 2019.

Formerly known as the Attorneys Fidelity Fund, the Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund exists as provisioned in the Legal Practice Act. It serves as a layer of protection for the public against loss resulting from trust fund theft. In most instances, the Fund reimburses its clients who suffered pecuniary loss caused by theft of property or money safeguarded by an attorney or when an attorney serves as deceased estate’s administrator or executor, or lastly, as a trustee of an insolvent estate.

LPF Bursary Programme 2019

The Legal Practitioners Bursary Programme support is awarded to successful applicants who are in their final two (2) years of LL.B qualification and will only cover the recipients’ tuition fee. The bursary fund is approved each year by the Ministry of Justice. The bursary amounts to a maximum of R8 000 for each year which is tenable for two (2) years.

Career Options

The Legal Practitioners Fund Bursary Programme does not guarantee employment within the company once bursars complete their studies.
