GWK is inviting qualified and interested parties to send in their application to qualify for its Bursary Programme for 2019.
GWK is one of the leading and most comprehensively diverse agricultural businesses in South Africa. It is a privately held company that pioneers in the agricultural and food value chain industry and heavily involved in providing a complete suite of agricultural solutions to farmers.
In addition, GWK also develops national and international markets for its producers, handling their produce trading and establishing viable trading channels for these products. The company is also involved in marketing its own food products.
GWK – Ben Scholtz Bursary Programme
As part of the company’s goal to further grow and develop the agricultural sector, it offers the Ben Scholtz Bursary Programme to qualified people who would like to pursue careers within the industry and are available in GWK. Some of these allied careers include the following:
- Procurement, cultivation,
- Safex product trading
- Irrigation and mechanics
- Research and development
- Livestock agents, marketers, auctioneers and adisors
- Human resource management
- Finance and accounting
The GWK – Ben Scholtz Bursary Programme will cover registration, book and class fees. It is open to students who are studying to qualify for careers that are available at GWK.
Bursars who finish their qualification will be given priority in vacant positions within GWK.
Requirements or Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
- Must have completed matric qualification
- Good academic record
- A South African citizen
- Planning to study or is already studying any of the courses mentioned earlier
- Must be studying at a university or tertiary level education recognized by GWK
