Ngaka Modiri Molema, once called Central District Municipality, is one of four districts in the North West province. The district’s capital, which is also the provincial capital, is Mahikeng. In 2011, the district municipality had a total population of 842,669. The Ngaka Modiri Molema municipality offers various programmes to improve the quality of life of its constituents, one of which is its Financial Management Internship.
Financial Management Internship Programme 2019
The Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality is calling on qualified individuals to apply for its 24-month Financial Management Internship for 2019. The internship is on a fixed term contract and pays a stipend of R 120,000 per year.
Interns are expected to perform key duties that include the following:
- Carry out GRAP, Budget Reforms and MFMA
- Budget an Financial Management
- Income Management
- Inventory and Asset Management
- Audit file preparation
- Investment, Bank and Grants Reconciliation
Career Options
Permanent employment at the end of the 24-month internship is not guaranteed as it may depend on factors set by the Office of the District Municipality of Ngaka Modiri Molema. However, the district municipality upholds the Employment Equity Act and is an equal opportunity employer.
Requirements
To qualify for the internship, the following minimum requirements must be met:
- Obtained a National Diploma in Financial Accounting or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Good computer skills, MS Excel, Office and Municipal Finance Management
- Great communication skills
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- An analytical and effective problem solver
