Sappi Ngodwana Mill is calling on qualified parties to send their application for its Process Trainee Learnership Programme. Sappi SA was established in 1936 to provide consumers with locally made paper. Through the years, they diversified their production to meet local demand for uncoated business and graphic papers, newsprint, packaging and specialty papers.
Headquartered in Johannesburg, the main office manages the sub-divisions of Sappi Specialised Cellulose, Sappi Paper and Paper Packaging, and Sappi Forests. Regional functions including human resources, finance, board functions, technical and engineering, and more are handled in their Johannesburg offices.

Sappi Process Trainee Learnership Programme
Sappi SA offers thoroughly structured occupational training programmes developed for individuals interested in jump starting their career as a process trainee in a multinational company. The learnership programmes allow trainees to experience the best theoretical and practical concepts surrounding the technical aspect of the company’s operation.
Sappi SA works in conjunction with several FET colleges, offering courses that can lead to a professional qualification registered at the National Qualification Framework.

- Complete section specific training as per the requirements of the position profiles in that section within the agreed time-frame
- Complete a General and Plant Specific induction
- Complete legal training as per mill and section requirement
- Maintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times
A formal contract called a learnership agreement is agreed into by the learner, the employer, and the training provider. An employer can draw up a learnership agreement between him and an existing employee or a non-employee. When an employer enters into a learnership agreement with a non-employee, the employer is not legally bound to hire the learner at the end of the programme.
Requirements or Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to qualify:
- Grade 12 (Maths and Physical Science)/ N3 Pulp and Paper
- Diploma in Pulp and Paper or Diploma in Chemical Engineering will be advantageous
