Tongaat Hulett Apprenticeship Programmes

Tongaat Hulett is primarily involved in the agricultural sector, including the agri-processing business. Its main focus is on the complementary feedstocks coming from maize and sugarcane from which they produce a wide array of  refined carbohydrate products.

The company’s sugar operations are well in place to capitalize from the ever changing global sweetener markets by leveraging off of its current base products. Its sugar operations in the SADC region are taking full advantage of emerging technologies in renewable energy and ethanol to minimize its carbon footprint. Tongaat Hulett’s ongoing works in agriculture have brought the company a sizeable land portfolio within KwaZulu-Natal’s major growth corridors

Tongaat Hulett has been listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange since 1952. It owns a secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange dating back to 1939. The company’s current structure was the result of the merger between the Tongaat Group and the Hulett’s Corporation. It has been in operation since the mid-1800s.
