The West Coast District Municipality is inviting interested parties to apply for its Financial Services Internship Programme for 2019. Located in Western Cape, the seat of the municipality is located in Mooreesburg. It had a population of 391,766 in 2011.
West Coast District Municipality Financial Services Internship Programme 2019
The West Coast District Municipality’s Financial Internship programme is conducted through the Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme, or MFMIP. The MFMIP is a structured work experience and training programme that aims to provide quality training and experiential learning in all areas of the Budget and Treasury office of the Municipality, as a mandate of the Municipal Finance Management Act of 2003.
All internship programmes under the MFMIP provides a logical and systematic training sequence. This training seeks to develop and enhance the skills and competencies obtained during university or technical education. At the end of this one-year internship, participants receive credits for employment qualification within the Municipal Finance Management office. This is as laid out in the Municipal Minimum Competency Regulations Gazette of June 2007. Moreover, the internship position pays an all-inclusive annual stipend of R96 000 to R144 000.

Requirements or Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must possess the minimum requirements of the programme:
- Completed at least three years in a Bachelor’s degree with majors in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Auditing or Risk Management
- Willing to commit to an internship agreement as well as an employment contract
- Must participate in the workplace tasks
- Must be age between 25 – 35
