The University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg is a public research university in South Africa. Commonly called Wits University or simply just Wits, the university is situated in the northern part of central Johannesburg. Similar to Witwatersrand and Johannesburg, UW gets its roots from the mining industry. It started as the South African School Mines in 1896 and is the third oldest university in South Africa in continuous operation.

The successful candidate will be part of Wits university’s Center for Exercise Science and Sports Medicine.
Who should apply?
The Biokinetic Internship Programme is open to applicants who have completed or in the process of completing their Honours qualification in Biokinetics. The ideal candidate must also have a demonstrated involvement in sports and related community service in the field.

Qualified applicants who wish to pursue this internship opportunity will need to prepare the following documents:
- Letter of motivation explaining reasons for the need to finish their internship
- A comprehensive and detailed CV (must show involvement in sports and community service)
- Certified copies of academic results and most recent postgraduate results (Hons)
- Indicate two references; preferably one of which is a member of the Department where the Biokinetics postgraduate degree is being undertaken
